1. Child visa (subclass 101)

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident and you have a child who lives overseas,

Your child must be single, younger than 18 years of age,

or a full-time student between 18-25 years of age or 18 or older and unable to work due to disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent.

It also need to be sponsored by their parent or their parent’s partner who is an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident.

This visa will allow the visa holder to live in Australia permanently.

They will be able to work and study in Australia and enroll to Medicare.

This visa also allow it’s holder travel to and from Australia indefinitely.

And this visa holder can even apply for Australian citizenship if they are eligible.

2. Child visa (subclass 802)

If your child is in Australia, he might be eligible to apply for this visa subclass.

You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to sponsor your child.

Your child must be single, younger than 18 years of age,

or a full-time student between 18-25 years of age or 18 or older and unable to work due to disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent.

Another requirements is the applicant sponsored by their parent or their parent’s partner who is an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Your child will have the same benefits as the Australia child visa subclass 101.

3. Dependent Child visa (subclass 445)

If you, as the parent, are currently holding a temporary Partner visa, your child might be eligible to apply this Australian Child Visa subclass.

Your child can be in or outside Australia at the time of applying the visa.

The child must be the biological child, stepchild or adopted child of the sponsoring parent.

The child must also be single and younger than 18.

If the child is over 18, he has to be financially dependent on the parent holding the temporary Partner visa,

or incapacitated for work due to total or partial bodily or mental functions.

This visa allows the child to travel to and from Australia with their parents until a decision is made on the parent’s permanent visa application.

The child will be able to work and study in Australia and can enroll to Medicare.
