Your child must be single, younger than 18 years of age (or a full-time student between 18-25 years of age or 18 or older and unable to work due to disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent) and sponsored by their parent or their parent’s partner who is an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident.
This visa will allow the visa holder to:
- Live in Australia permanently.
- Will be able to work and study in Australia and enroll to Medicare.
- Can also travel to and from Australia indefinitely.
- They can even apply for Australian citizenship if they are eligible.
Australian Child Visa (subclass 802)
If your child is in Australia, he might be eligible to apply for this Australian Child Visa subclass.
You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to be able to sponsor your child.
Your child must be single, younger than 18 years of age (or a full-time student between 18-25 years of age or 18 or older and unable to work due to disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent) and sponsored by their parent or their parent’s partner who is an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Your child will have the same benefits as the option above.
Dependent Child Visa (subclass 445)
If you, as the parent, are currently holding a temporary Partner visa, your child might be eligible to apply this Australian Child Visa subclass.
Your child can be in or outside Australia at the time of applying the visa.
The child must be the biological child, stepchild or adopted child of the sponsoring parent.
The child must also be single and younger than 18. If the child is over 18, he has to be financially dependent on the parent holding the temporary Partner visa or incapacitated for work due to total or partial bodily or mental functions.
This visa allows the child to travel to and from Australia with their parents until a decision is made on the parent’s permanent visa application.
The child will be able to work and study in Australia and can enroll to Medicare.
It is important for a child’s development to be with their parents.
