The Australian government emphasized the reopening of the international border is for fully vaccinated international visitors. It means the fully vaccinated international visitors do not need to apply for a travel exemption to enter the country. The international visitors must have received a double dose of Covid-19 vaccination to be considered fully vaccinated.
Currently, the approved COVID-19 vaccination by the Australian government are:
- Comirnaty (Pfizer)
- Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)
- Spikevax or Takeda (Moderna)
- COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (Janssen)
- Nuvaxovid (Biocelect on behalf of Novavax).

What if the international visitors have not received a full dose of vaccination?
Those international visitors who are not fully vaccinated must obtain a travel exemption to enter the country. They must also undergo a hotel quarantine if they are exempted to enter Australia.
Suppose the international visitors have a health condition and are unable to obtain a full dose of Covid-19 vaccination; they must provide evidence showing that they have health conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated.
