Change of Health Service Provider for Australian Onshore Visa and Migration Medical Services
Please note that the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will be changing to a new migration medical services provider during July 2014 and on 25 July 2014 which will mean that the current Onshore Medical Services Contract between the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the service provider Medibank Health Solutions (MHS) will expire.
All clients in Australia will commence with Bupa Medical Visa Services for the visa medical examinations and assessments from 28 July 2014. If you are seeking health examinations in Australia in July 2014 you may be impacted by the changes.
The new change of the service provider to Bupa Medical Visa Services will bring a significant number of client service enhancements which will result in high quality and efficient services to meet the required client service standards.
This contract will include the onshore visa and migration medical services which are currently undertaken by Medibank Health Solutions (MHS) and other visa and migration services that are currently being undertaken by the department.
You must continue to contact Medibank Health Solutions (MHS) for an appointment if you are applying before 28 July 2014 for yourself or for your client and once you have lodged an assessment you must then contact Bupa Medical Visa Services on 1300 794 919 to enable the medical assessments to be finalised.
After the 28 July 2014 you will need to contact Bupa Medical Visa Services for any new onshore health assessments or reviews of past medical officer of the commonwealth’s opinions.
