Evidence of Dependency on Parents
This is the crucial one. You must show genuine evidence that your child is dependent on you.
- Evidence of financial support for your child
- Evidence of your child’s school enrollment
- Evidence that your child is physically disabled to support themselves
- Evidence of family relationship
Character and Health Document
If your child is above 16 years old, your child will be required to provide a Police Clearance Certificate from their home country and other country where they have lived for more than 12 months.

Regarding the health document, the Department of Home Affairs usually requests your child to undergo a health examination. Your child must complete it and the result will be sent directly to the Department of Home Affairs.
What if My Child Onshore?
There is a slight additional required document for Australian Child Visa application, specifically for the 802 visa. Your child must show their valid substantive visa at the time of visa lodgment. Your child must also show their genuine dependency on you.
What if My Child Offshore?
