Effective 7 December 2024, Indonesia and more ASEAN Countries are eligible for the Visitor Visa—Frequent Traveller stream. These changes improve the chances for eligible nationals to visit Australia for both business and leisure and increase access to the Frequent Traveller Stream (FTS).

What is the Frequent Traveller Stream?
The Frequent Traveller stream is one of the streams available on the Visitor Visa (subclass 600) Australia. The visa is valid for a maximum of ten years. You can stay for up to three months for each visit.
The Frequent Traveller stream is designed for those who frequently travel to Australia for business or tourism purposes. It offers the flexibility of multiple entries over a ten-year period, reducing the need for frequent visa applications. The cost is AUD 1,435.
Eligible Countries for Visitor Visa – Frequent Traveller Stream
Previously, the Frequent Traveller stream was only available for the People’s Republic of China. However, starting on 7 December 2024, the visa stream is now available for South East Asian countries, including:
- Brunei Darussalam
- Cambodia
- Indonesia
- Lao People’s Democratic Republic
- Malaysia
- The People’s Republic of China
- The Philippines
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Timor-Leste
- Viet Nam
What else should you know?
The Frequent Traveler Stream no longer requires applicants to be citizens of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) or possess a PRC passport.
