What You Need To Know Before You Decided To Migrate To Australia
Migrate to Australia is not as simple as packing a bag, saying goodbye and boarding the next available flight.
There are many things you need to think about and take into consideration when thinking of living abroad.
Tthere are many rules, restrictions, processes and laws when it comes to Visas and migration.
The first thing you need to do is make sure you are aware of what those are before you start preparing for migrate to Australia.
It is important that you understand what visa subclass would be best suited to you and even more important that you hold the appropriate visa for your intentions in Australia.
For example, if you are wanting to live and work in Australia, then a 12 month Visitor visa would not be appropriate.
The visitor visa has certain conditions that do not allow you to work and in some cases do not allow you to stay further than the date it expires, meaning you cannot apply for another visa in Australia after that if you are wishing to stay longer.
The Working holiday visa may be more appropriate, however that does not allow you to live permanently in Australia, nor be eligible for government assistance schemes such as Medicare or Centrelink.
It is important to understand the differences between each Australian visa type and what each visa type allows or does not allow you to do.
Skilled working visas as an example, allow you to live and work in Australia, however only certain subclasses are permanent.
Some are temporary only allowing you to live and work in Australia from 2 to 4 years.
Before applying for the appropriate Australian visa you need to ensure that you will be eligible for that particular visa and if you are bringing your family you must ensure that the visa type you are applying for allows you to include family members.
You must also ensure that your family meet the eligibility requirements for dependents also.
Gaining the correct advice and knowledge from a registered migration agent is the key to applying for the correct visa type and guarantees a higher chance of a successful visa application.
