- All Contributory Parent Visas Australia applications submitted before 1 June 2018 have been assigned a queue date for application submission. When an application meets the initial visa requirements and is submitted on or after 1 June 2018, the Department of Home Affairs will evaluate it and assign a queue date.
- The Department of Home Affairs evaluated the onshore Aged Parent Visa (subclass 804) until the January 2013 queued date. To bring the dates back into balance, it may take longer to process onshore aged parent applications with a queued date of January 2013 or later while they handle offshore Parent Visa (subclass 103) applications.

- The Minister may decide, by Section 85 of the Migration Act 1958 (the Act), the maximum number of visas that will be issued in a program year for specific visa classes. This means no more grants will be available until the following program year after the cap has been reached. - Capping ensures that no planning level is exceeded for each Migration Program Year, as determined by the Australian Government. The application will only be accepted if it complies with the conditions.
