Waiver for Partner Visa Sponsorship Case Study.
Partner Visa Sponsorship – Shayne’s Story.
In 2003 I was visiting Australia for a holiday and had only just arrived in Melbourne when I met the lady who would become my future wife, Hannah.
Hannah was staying in the same hotel as me and we had met by sheer accident when we bumped heads whilst floating around in the hotel pool.
From that day onwards we had become acquaintances smiling and saying hello whenever we saw each other.
And I had finally struck up the nerve to ask her out for a dinner date only to learn it was the last day of her holiday in Melbourne.
After our date that went really well, Hannah left for Sydney but we stayed in touch and I soon found myself on a bus heading to Sydney for the last week of my vacation to stay and visit with her.
Our friendship soon developed and we stayed in contact almost every day after I returned to England via emails and phone calls.
The next time we saw each other I had invited Hannah to spend the December holidays with me and my family in my home in Yorkshire.
It was at this time that our relationship developed into more than just friends and we shared our first kiss under the mistletoe.
After Hannah returned home we stayed in contact everyday with phone calls, emails and video calls over skype.
Soon we were visiting each other quite regularly and after 3 years I asked Hannah to be my wife.
She accepted and before we could blink our wedding plans were put into action.
We were married in the spring in a ceremony fit for a king and queen.
It was nice to have Hannah’s family fly to England for the wedding and the smile on my beautiful wife’s face that day will always be etched in my memory.
It was the happiest moment of my life.
It was after this time that we decided to apply for a Partner visa on the basis of marriage.
We had discussed our options of where we would settle and it was decided that I would come to live with my wife in Australia.
Hanna’s mother was not very well at this time and we thought it best she be close to her mother as she was the only child.
Our Temporary Partner visa was granted in 2008 with the help of ONE derland Consulting’s Lead Registered Migration Agent Indah Melindasari.
Hannah and I had settled in well to our new home in Bondi Sydney.
I had started a new job as a computer technician and Hannah continued to work as a veterinary assistant.
By the end of 2010 we were ready to apply for the second stage of our partner visa and I had received the greatest news of my life, I was going to be a father.
Our lives felt complete. We were so happy and in love, but in the winter of 2010 my whole world was Shattered. Hannah was killed in a car accident.
It took me a long time to accept and to this day the pain of losing 2 of my most precious gifts is almost still too unbearable to comprehend.
A month after the accident and after coming out of what I can describe as a dazed and confused state I realized that I may not be able to live and stay in our home as I was now without my partner who sponsored me, meaning my visa may not be valid.
I would have to sell up and re locate back to England.
As you can imagine, the pain and heartache of losing my life partner and child was devastating enough but the prospect of having to leave the home we built together and the life we built together behind was another devastating blow to my already shattered heart.
I immediately contacted Indah at ONE derland consulting to let her know that she would no longer need to continue with the second stage of our application.
Indah was extremely compassionate and understanding and advised me not to lose hope, that there may be a way I would be able to stay and reside in the home that my beloved wife and I built.
She ensured me that I did not need to worry about anything and that the team at ONE derland would handle everything.
A few days later I received a call from ONE derland Consulting advising me that I would need to send in my wife’s death certificate and some other documentation.
I proceeded to do so and after 24 hours I received notification from the department of Immigration that due to compelling circumstances Sponsorship for my Permanent visa would not be required and my permanent Partner visa was granted.
If I did not have the support knowledge and guidance from Indah and her team at ONE derland Consulting I may have never known there was the chance of me being able to stay.
I may very well have moved back to Yorkshire not only grieving for the loss of my wife and child, but also losing my home.
The home my beautiful wife and I built together, my sanctuary, where all my fondest memories were made.
I cannot thank Indah and the wonderful team at ONE derland Consulting enough.
