Proposed Changes to 485 Graduate Visa April 2015
Australia immigration authority implemented a changes to some of 485 graduate visa requirements from 18 April 2015.
The changes covered some tweaks on how IELTS score affected graduate visa application and the others affecting the health requirements.
English Language Requirement
This is very great news for international students who would like to apply for a Graduate visa after 18 April 2015!
If you are currently on a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) visa the IELTS requirement is for Competent English which requires an achieved score of 6 in each four components of the test (speaking, reading, listening and writing).
The changes to come into effect on 18th April, 2015 will see the scores for the IELTS Test relaxed slightly.
The average score band will be 6 and the new minimum scores in each band will drop to 5 or 5.5.
Applicants applying for either the 18 month Graduate Work Stream as well as the Post Study Work visa will find this beneficial if they were struggling to meet the current required minimum of 6 in each band.
The changes also affect the Skilled Recognised Graduate Subclass 476 visa.
Health Requirement
Another significant change is to the current Health requirement.
Currently 485 visa applicants must provide evidence that they have made an arrangement to undertake medicals at lodgement stage of the application.
This has shown to be difficult in the past as Health Declarations have had to be completed prior to booking medical examinations with BUPA.
As of 18th April, 2015 applicants can take their medicals after lodgement of visa applications and not have to show evidence prior to lodgement.
Graduate visa could lead to a promising future for your career or well being.
