RSMS Maybe Removed from Perth Western Australia? Is this true?
Possibiblity of RSMS maybe removed from Perth
As the State Election is about to come up on the 11th of March 2017, the favorite to win is the WA Labour Party.
If this party is to win the election on the 11th of March 2017, they intend to remove Perth from having the RSMS status entirely; this is a very strong indication that RSMS maybe removed from Perth will be a reality as they are leading in the polls now.
This would mean that if you are an international student graduate (or an overseas skilled worker) wishing to be sponsored by a company with little or no work experience as of yet, your only option would be the 457 temporary visa (with the possibility of permanent residency after working 2 years with that company, if the rules are to stay the same).
With the 457 visa being your only option for this, there are some occupations that are on listed for the 457 visa, such as Retail Manager, these positions will disappear for Perth companies wanting to sponsor someone.
If you are currently considering applying for the RSMS visa in Perth, please note this and lodge your visa application before the State elections on the 11th of March 2017.
Try and give yourself the chance to get this visa before it is too late and the program closes!!

“Bill Shorten will today back Mark McGowan’s plan to have Perth removed from a skilled migration program used to bring overseas workers to WA in acknowledgement of the State’s ailing job market.
Using his first foray to Perth for the State election campaign to push his “Australians first” jobs message, Mr Shorten will pledge to support Perth’s exclusion from the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme.”
