The simplicity of a new Visitor Visa has been launched in March 23, 2013. If you are planing to travel to Australia for business, a conference, visits to learn about business opportunities, tourism, social activities, visiting family, friends and other affairs, Australia offers such a simple and easy way to find a type of visa that would be perfect according to your circumstances.
Starting on March 23, 2013, the Australian Government will not accept the following visas:
● Tourist visa (subclass 676)
● Sponsored family visitor visa (subclass 679)
● Business (Short Stay) visa (Subclass 456)
● Sponsored business visitor (short stay) visa (subclass 459)
● Medical Treatment (short stay) visa (subclass 675)
● Medical Treatment (long stay) visa (subclass 685)
● Electronic Travel Authority (visitor) (subclass 976)
● Electronic Travel Authority (Business – short validity) (subclass 977)
● Electronic Travel Authority (business – long validity) (subclass 956).

Previous applicants who meet the requirements for the above visas, may be able to meet the requirements of the following new visas and submit a new application:
1. Temporary work (activity short stay) visa (subclass 400)
This visa allows the visa holder to come to Australia to do the following activities:
● undertake a short work
● participate in an sport or cultural event as invited participant
2. Visitor visa (subclass 600)
Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) allows you to visit Australia for tourism, business trip activities. Tourism including vacation, recreation, visiting family and friends. Business activities including visits, conferences, negotiations or visit to learn about a business. You are not allowed to work or provide services to a business or organization in Australia or undertake the sale of goods and services to the people in Australia.
3. Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)
The Electronic Travel Authority allows you to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes if you are a passport holder of a particular country. Please check your eligibility on Immigration website www.immi.gov.au

Tourism including vacation, recreation, visiting family and friends. Business activities including visits, conferences, negotiations or visit to learn about a business. You are not allowed to work or provide services to a business or organization in Australia or undertake the sale of goods and services to the people there.
4. Medical Treatment visa (subclass 602)
Medical Treatment visa is designed to allow patients to come to Australia for medical treatment and health consultation. You can apply for this visa when you are inside or outside Australia.
5. eVisitor (subclass 651)
eVisitor allows you to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes if you hold a passport from certain countries. Tourism activities including leisure, recreation, visiting family and friends. Business activities including visits, conferences, negotiations or visit to learn about a business. You are not allowed to work or provide services to a business or organization in Australia or undertake the sale of goods and services to the people there.
